With google sheets you can use data validation to insert a dropdown menu in a cell with a given list of options provided by the data cells in the range you provide it.
I'm wondering if I can extend that functionality more so I can add information provided with each drop down item, e.g. if the item is an ingredient I can autopopulate its nutrition information like calories, carbs, etc. into other columns. See what I mean under the sheets for meals and ingredients [link].
